“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the
door will be opened to you.”
(Matthew 7:7, NLT)
I love this verse because it simply tells you everything you need to do in order to get your petitions answered.
Here is a scenario that sometimes plays out in our minds with God when we are asking for specific petitions.
Ask and you shall receive…..
Wait I did, I’m still waiting…. now what?
I already did, what’s asking again gonna do ?
I want you to.
You also got seek, keep looking…..
What you mean, Keep looking, you just told me to ask again, now you telling me to look, look where? If I knew where to look you think I would be asking?
Well you need to look, the problem is
your asking the wrong questions and not looking in the right direction!
Keep looking, keep asking!
I can’t find it, I don’t know what else to ask, what now?
Knock what? You bugging now!!
What is he talking about, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking…. and in doing so you receive what your asking for, find what your looking for and the doors will open for you.
However it will not come that easy. First you have to realize when we are asking, knocking and seeking we are not doing so in the flesh we need to spiritually ask…. we need to seek what we are looking spiritually we need to knock on that spiritual door so we can get our answer.
Many times we ask god for petitions not realizing God doesn’t want you to have it for a reason, God has a plan, you need to listen, you need to pay attention and follow the breadcrumbs he’s leaving you, you need to seek to find the answer for your blessing. He will guide you to the right path and when you open that door you will realize the greatest blessings god had for you.
We keep asking for things to come, yet we do not have faith nor patience, sometimes it feels like an eternity before it all comes to pass.
The Bible says with faith and patience you will inherit his promises
Si remain in faith, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking snd before long you will see your petitions answered. Remember they are not going to be answer when we want them, they will be answered in his timing.
The biggest problem we have as to why we do not receive miracles we are is seeking due to our lack of patience and giving up before we receive our blessing.
We drop when things get difficult.
We give up.
Wave the white flag.
Find an alternative solution which is more damaging than helpful.
This verse here though not only encourages us to keep asking and seeking, but to stay determined while we seek him until we receive his promises.
Tonight, when you pray to the lord, remember to have hope and faith in him that an answer to your petition will come. Keep a positive attitude. Keep faith. Stay in spiritual contact with the lord. Stay obedient in him and be willing to accept the answer to your petition, even when it’s not irme we want to hear.
What you may feel is what you need, god may feel is not aligned for your future. We need to accept that as well. Today pray to the lord to maintain an attitude of faith. Pray for expectancy. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. When god is ready he will open the door.
Father God you know my petitions and my pleas. You know the outcomes and when my answers will come help me keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Help me to open up and pay attention to your cues, words, signs as to what I am to do while I wait. I will keep asking, keep seeking and keep knocking. Patiently waiting for when you decide the answers for my pleas. Amen.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and up braideth not; and it shall be given him.
You know the saying (from the Bible) ask and you shall receive. Well similar concept here. We have all been called to spread the news of his word the moment we accepted Christ as Lord and savior.
Some of us may feel inadequate (I know at times I have felt this way). Some of us may feel unprepared (I have definitely felt this way). Some may feel unqualified….. as have I.
Now we need to trust in God the same way many before Us have. We need to trust just like the prophets have. We need to resign out doubt and submit fully immersed in God and ask him to provide the knowledge we lack.
It is amazing what one can do when god provides the knowledge needed to fulfill a specific task.
We are to use our gifts and talents to minister to others. Out actions, our words, our every being should reflect on who we are as followers and who God is in our lives. If we have doubt in our work and need more knowledge we are to submit our heart, our soils and our minds to god fully so he can supply the knowledge we need to carry out his will.
Remember too that the knowledge will pass as long as we are doing his will.
Father God I thank you for always proving the knowledge needed to do your will. I thank you for allowing me to have a direct contact with you via the Holy Spirit to be able to make such requests. I ask that you continue to satisfy my hunger in all things pertaining you, may you continue to pour out the knowledge and tools needed to carry out your will. Amen.
