Arise

"Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you."

(Isaiah 60:1, NKJV)

The Glory of the Lord has risen within you. The glory of the lord gives us the strength to rise and shine the light the lords has given us.

We all have gifts/ talents that were given to us by his good grace. These gifts and talents were given to us for us to grow and use in his glory. They are provided to us so that we can rise up from our circumstance in the flesh. They were given to us so that we can shine in his holy light. It is when we put god first in all of our endeavors, it is when we properly glorify his name, it is when we give him due praise for our success and talents that we can shine like beacons of light in his name.

We shall and can rise up. We shall and can shine bright and let his glory manifest among us. His glory is already with us. All we have to do is wake up, look for it, rise up and we shall shine and be of blessings. We don't have to look far. We don't have to travel the world to find ourselves, we have to search within. We need to look in the depths of our soul, the depths of our hearts. We need to see from within to see what God wants from all of us.

Did you know that the word “glory” in the original language indicates that God’s favor, blessing and splendor is on you in a heavy way.

He has filled us with so much of his glory that it weighs us, its there, in searching for it you shouldn't have to search far, it's there.

Please know that your time is now. It is time to shine bright. It's time to rise. Let that sink in. Let this marinate in your spirit. His glory is with you. It's time to ride and shine because of his glory.

Thank you father for your glory. Thank you for letting your glorify marinate and manifest within me. Thank you for allowing me to rise, so that I may shine. Lord I know I shine because your glory is within me, you placed it there. Many may not realize this my lord. Many may not realize that your glory is with them. I pray for them dear lord, I pray for them dear lord that they may see your glory within them so they too can rise and shine. Amen.

Marital advice … an open letter to my cousin

This is an open letter to my cousin whom is having a destination wedding.
I was unable to go due to timing. My sister just had a baby, as mentioned in prior posts she's a special needs. She is doing well, but I would've felt better being able to be there for her, with her during this new transition in her life.

Juny I don't say it often but I love you…. my first brother, my twin. For many years my other half. I want to congratulate you on your upcoming nuptials. May this day go smooth, may you and your bride be blessed beyond belief, may God our father anoint this union while you say your vows. I pray for your health, years of happiness, longevity, wisdom, strength, endurance, may your love and passion for one another always remain.

Mark 10:9: “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
I pray that you both weather the storm, for there will be good days and there will be bad days, but trust in God, keep faith in God, keep hope in God to ride out the storms to come. Both of you Remember always marriage isn't a one way street, two people, joined together to become one, it's a 50/50. There may be times one or the other have to meet at the half way point. Always stay united.

Ephesians 4:2-3: “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

Love one another with all your night, remind each other often day it, display it, always keep an open Chanel of communication.
Ephesians 5:25: “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her."
But tell your bride that I said to love you just the same, love your husband the way Christ loves his church.

Remember to always be supportive of one another. Be each other's rocks. Be each other's support system.
Ecclesiastes 4:12: “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

As I mentioned before you will have storms (later vs sooner). Always love each other even in the storm. Always talk it out, never go to bed angry at one another, as I said earlier always communicate.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."

1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."

Nothing breaks my heart more than not being able to go to witness this big day for you. Nothing breaks my heart more than not being with my family during this time. I will be there in spirit covering you with blessings. I will be fasting and praying for you and your wife. May god bless you always.
I love you June.

Father God I ask that you cover this union in prayers. May they heed the advices of marriages others provide. May they always put you first my lord, may they always love and honor one another. Lord I ask you to bless them, protect them, let the Holy Spirit manifest in them so that he can guide their every step. I rebuke negativity and Harm in the name of Jesus. May their union be of a blessing, of love and success in their celebrations. In the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit Amen.

 Bless others with your light

Bless others with your light.
Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
There is this trend where many gather to sip some wine and paint with friends. It’s actually a pretty cool way to DE-stress from a crazy week by painting your worries away in good company….. in some cases with a good glass of wine.
I like this concept of hanging out yet doing something therapeutic. One evening my friends and I decided to take a much needed mommy break and the 3 of us decided to join one of these sip and paint classes. We painted, we fellow shipped and we drank soda lol. So we technically “sipped” and painted.
After our fun evening we all felt this is something we could do with our fellow parishioners and friends. We approached our pastoral leadership, once we got the approval, we asked our members and when we got enough interests we decided to go ahead and plan the event…. but in our church’s basement, as a fellowship/ fundraiser.
On the day of the event I opened up the church to begin getting things in order. A few members began cooking so we can have additional food for the potluck. The instructors for the class arrived, we went to help them unload, we helped them arrange the furniture to ensure not only the instructors were comfortable and had space but that when the painters arrive there’s space for mobility, space for them to view painting and of course comfort.
We helped them set up and prep. The instructor kept saying sit, relax, our agreement is we do all the work. He obviously doesn’t know me I can’t sit idle …. ever, and our parishioners are the same, always helping, always of service.
Our initial agreement was we pay for 20 painters up front. Minimum for a mobile event is 20.
I paid for the 20, but knew X amount of people where going to come. The Instructor said in the event of cancellations individuals 21& on will pay day of. I agreed and we proceeded to set up for the x amount of people whom stated were coming.  Though I just wanted to pay for everyone up front.
As people arrived, we started feeding them fruit salad on this hot summer day. We also fed our instructors. When all the participants arrived I asked the instructor hey let me give you the money for those participants. He stated don’t worry about that now we will discuss that later on. So the class began.
We painted, sang songs while painting, we cracked jokes that even the instructors partook in our fellowship. Mid way we took a break. We ate, fed our instructors and again I approached him about the remainder of the money, he told me don’t worry about the money we can talk about that later.
We went back to painting. After we painted and when it was time for clean up, we helped him dismount and put away the materials. As the members were gathering their tip, I again approached the lead instructor regarding the money. He said ma’am, we’ve done several of these types of events, there are times that we don’t even get offered a glass of water, our agreement was that you sit back, worry about your painters and we will set up and clean up. Yourself and many of your guests have not sat back, from the moment we arrived up until now you have taken really good care of us. You’ve embraced us, you’ve fed us, you’ve hydrated us, you’ve included us. We were supposed to take care of you, and instead you took care of us. Call us even. Give the money for those individuals to the church with whatever was raised for today. We thank you for your hospitality and love.
I will not disclose the amount of painters he did not charge me for. But that amount will be of a blessing to the church. We raised all together a good amount. Double what I had anticipated. God is good!
Lesson here:
Your actions, how you treat others are a testimony of who we are. Your actions, how you treat others are a blessings to others. You actions, how you treat others can bring back blessings to you, even when least expected. I wish the business we partnered with for the event much blessings, love and success. They blessed us more than they could even imagine. I am glad at the end of the day it was a mutual blessing. For them, for the church and myself, who was touched and moved by his words and his generosity. He didn’t have to donate money for those individuals to the church, yet he did. To God be all the Glory! Once again I humbly thank them.
I shared this testimony with the church the Sunday following the event, not to gloat at how much we raised, not my good deeds, for it wasn’t just myself who helped it was many others who rolled up their sleeves and helped. He didn’t see one person doing all the work, he saw a team of people working together for one same cause, to God all the Glory. It was our actions, our love, our kindness not my love, not my actions nor my kindness, but all of our actions that led him to his decision.
Father God I humbly thank you for your Constance guidance and love. I thank you for my church and the light of love, the light of compassion and the light of your grace overflowed that Saturday. We were able to touch this mans heart for him to bless us in your name. Lord we thank you for allowing our gestures to minister to his heart. We thank you for using all of us, despite our age differences, we all showed the same love and compassion. We all ministered…. even this man ministered back to us, with his actions, with his love and his emotions. Thank you Lord, for we will continue to give you all the glory. AMEN.

Prayer warriors needed to fight the good fight

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
(1 Timothy 6:12)

We have all been placed here for a specific reason. We all have a specific role to play and a specific fight we need to fight for our creator. Each one of us has a story. Some are simple, some are hard, some are very complex.
What we all have in common is no matter what our stories are, no matter what struggles we face, we all have the same fight. Yours may be more specific than mine, mine may be more specific than the person sitting next to me on this train, but we all have the same fight.
Our fight is a spiritual fight.

It’s is a fight for our faith.

It’s a fight for acceptance.

It is a fight for hope.

It is a fight for our eternal salvation.
Regardless of our backgrounds. Regardless of our hardships, the fight of faith is one in the same.
We were chosen to be Gods people.

We were chosen to be his prayer warriors.

We were chosen to spread his word.

We were chosen to defend him against the enemy.
Fighting the enemy could be tiresome.

He comes from Many angles.

He uses different pathways to deter not only your blessing but your faith in God.

He attacks us using our loved ones.

He attacks us using our colleagues:

He attacks us using random strangers.

He attacks us with illness.

He attacks us with stress.

He attacks us with uncertainty.

He attacks us by filling us with doubt.
Our faith is what can help us with this battle. We all have a pivotal role in this celestial fight for our eternity. Are you willing and able to pick up your arms (spiritual) and fight the good fight?

Are you going to continue to fast, continue to pray, continue to praise even during the hardship?
Job lost it all, was tested, over came his circumstance and in the end was blessed.

As parents, nothing hurts us more than seeing our children in anguish, pain and torment. As I am writing this, I have an uncle who’s son (my cousin) is in a hospital because he was found unresponsive in his room. Several exams were done to see where the problem lies. My aunt and my uncle are desperate in need of prayers.
We will fight this food fight with you for your son. We will take up our coats of arms, we will hold our shields, we will gather our swords and we will fight this good fight with you.
My grandmother told my uncle, ” he was chosen by God to do his work and that everything he is going through is the battle that he will face against the devil.”

God chose his son for his specific battle. He God will lift him up from this circumstance.
My young cousin maybe unresponsive right now. But I know deep down he is fighting. This poor young child…. whom has been through a lot in his life, please feel our prayers, please feel our thoughts, please feel our words, listen to the voice of God. Follow his lead little one, he will direct you, he will guide you, he will help you in this fight.
I am praying for you little champ.

You will come or victorious in Jesus name.

The lord will guide your doctors to reveal the nature to your current mysterious circumstances. God has he answers and in time will provide. While we wait I will pray. While we wait I ask for prayers. While you fight, we will fight with you.
Father God I ask you to cover your hands over my cousin and bring forth healing. I ask you to wake him from this nightmare. I am asking for healing and liberation in your name for this child. May he be liberated from the demons holding him down. I ask for strength for my aunt, uncle and family as they face this battle of the unknown. I ask for guidance, patience while awaiting diagnostics, I ask again for healing. I ask that anyone reading this can unite with my family in prayers. May the Holy Spirit move so that we can provide strength and liberation for my family. Lord your will, will be done. Amen.

Receive Power of the Holy Spirit.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me…”
(Acts 1:8, NKJV)

Receive Power of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is essential in our Christian walk. Once we have received the Holy Spirit we shall be empowered by God. Now I’m not talking about the pinky and the brain I am going to take over the world empowerment. Being empowered by god is being provided wisdom when you lacked wisdom on a given subject. Being empowered means having courage when you fear. Being empowered by god means coming out of your comfort zone and take on a new role for his glory.
God strengthens us, he equips us with everything we need to move on to the next task he has for us.

Remember your victory is his victory. The scripture tells us that when Jesus ascended to heaven he told his disciples that he was sending his comforter. Who was that? The Holy Spirit of course .

The Holy Spirit doesn’t just comfort us, the bills Spirit I s our counselor, teacher

And our strength. The Holy Spirit provided for us. In order to receive the power and greatness god had in store for you, one needs to open your heart, open your mind, open your eyes, open your would and be ready to receive.
I challenge you today.

Receive gods power.

I challenge you.

Open your heart.

Open your eyes.

Open your mind.

Be ready to receive.

Invite the Holy Spirit and be willing and ready to be filled with gods power and glory.
Let the Holy Spirit do his works in you.

Read the Bible, as you read, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal gods plan.

Invite him in.

Open the door.

Be ready to be equipped by the Holy Spirit.
I challenge you today.
Do you accept?
Pray with me.

Father God I want to be empowered by you. I want to feel the warmth of your spirit. I want to be equipes by you. I want to be used in your glory. God help me open my eyes to be able to see your wonder. God help me open my ears to be able to hear the call of the Holy Spirit. God help me open my mind so that doubt doesn’t pass my mind and I can accept your power. God open my heart for I want to be filled with your glory. Lord use me any way you seem fit using the Holy Spirit. I am willing, able and ready to receive your Holy Spirit who will equip me in this walk with you. Amen

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit who is my helper in this life. I choose to open my heart to Your Word to receive power so that I can walk and live in the victory You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Emanuel

Emmanuel—God with Us
We are so blessed because of Emmanuel (God is with us).
Emmanuel, Imanuel, Emanuel, Manuel in hebrew means God is with us. Immanuel not only says that God is with us but it expresses the wonder of the incarnation, that God “became flesh and made his dwelling among us”.
God is among us.
his presence is always with us all the time.
What an amazing blessing to know that God is with us.
Matthew 1:23 “’Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel’ (which is translated, God with us).”
The bible refers to Jesus with 5 different names:
5 Names of Jesus in the New Testament and What They Mean; can be found in the link below.
Of these five names of Jesus in the new testament, one specifically is Emmanuel, which means God with us.
Isaiah 7:14. speaks of the naming of the naming of the virgin child as Emmanuel “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”
In the Recovery Version of the Bible, note 2 for Emmanuel explains its meaning:
“Jesus was the name given by God, whereas Emmanuel, meaning God with us, was the name by which man called Him. Jesus the Savior is God with us. He is God, and He is also God incarnated to dwell among us (John 1:14). He is not only God but God with us.”
Jesus is our God incarnated. The blessings of him being our Emanuel is not only for the Jews but the gentiles, the Samaritans and all whom believe in him. He died to accomplish eternal redemption for all. WE all have opportunity to join him in heaven. Best yet, he shows how he is with us.
We are blessed to have him always be with us.
We are blessed to never walk alone.
We are blessed for he knows what it feels to be in the flesh.
We are blessed because he loves us.
No matter where you go, no matter what you do, no matter what people say, no matter what life throws at you….God is always with us.
Thank you Father for being with us. Thank you father for fulfilling the prophesies. Thank you father for your love and always taking care of me. Thank our father for being merciful. Love you always. Amen.

Angel feathers

img_5732

This morning my two year old tells me there is an Angel in the Kitchen.
I was getting him ready to leave the house to drop off the new sitter and he just states that. So Instinctively I take a look, obviously I don’t see anything. So I go back to getting my son ready. He repeats what he said. So I say sure baby there is an ….then he says look. He stopped me mid-sentence. I look. There was a white feather floating above us.

He looks up and says see, the Angel is here with us.
I started to pray.
My two year old saw an Angel.
A feather appeared.
I felt like I was not alone, but did not feel in danger.
I felt protected.
I felt a peace.
I felt serene.

There was an Angel visiting my son.

The floating feather disappeared (or my son lost it) after he caught it.

What a way to start the day.

God thank you for sending protection.
Thank you for sending your Angels to walk among us.
