Few seconds of dread

I don’t know about you, but every time my child’s school calls me, My heart sinks, I start to shake, my heart begins to palpitate.  I dread that number when it pops up on the caller ID.

No my child is not a problem child.

I am very active in the school, despite being a working mom.

I always react the same way.

It was only once they legitimately called me because he was not feeling well and needed to be picked up early.

Aside from that all the calls have been school related for a prosperous event at the school.

I don’t know about you but i always get relieved when the caller states; My name and then after, your son is alright…..

I quickly calm down and become the bubbly self i usually am and continue my day.

I thank God everyday that he has covered my son with his blood and protection. I thank God and pray for him daily for my children’s well being, and all the children.  My children aren’t  inclusive only in that prayer.  We have to pray for all of our children in this day an age.

We are living during times where Schools, which once were known as being safe havens for children, are now possible dangerous territory.  Kids bringing in weapons to school, kids harming others.  People looking to seek vengeance over a love triangle, or whatever vendetta that has stirred up so much hate in their hearts.

We do need to bring the message of love, prosperity and God back to schools.  I know the subject is touchy with vast religions out there, but at least the essential message of love, respect, prosperity, peace, helping one another should be taught again.

Today I ask dear Lord that you continue to bless and protect my children academically, physically, mentally, socially and overall.  May you continue to provide comfort, love, shelter and a safe haven every place they step foot in.  May these desires I ask of for my children be extended to all children, across the globe.  May we as parents trust in you to continue to protect our children.  Amen
